Repeat Prescriptions
If you are taking a regular course of medication the doctor may issue it as a “repeat”. If you require a further supply you should either:
- Tick the appropriate box on the computer tear-off slip from your previous prescription and hand this to our dispensary or reception.
- If you have registered for our online ordering service, follow the link above.
Online order issues such as forgotten passwords or usernames need to be resolved in practice. Please contact our reception team.
Dispensary
Our dispensary has its own telephone number 0115 932 2567, please ring this number for any medication queries. Dispensers deal with all the prescriptions made up at the surgery and will issue repeat prescription requests. Whether or not we can dispense to a patient depends on where they live; if in doubt, please ask.
Out of Hours Cover for Urgent Prescriptions
Urgent prescriptions may be obtained by contacting the surgery on 0115 944 0088for the ‘out-of-hours doctors service’. Alternatively, if the medication is a normal repeat, a retail pharmacy should be able to issue an emergency supply on production of your repeat slip and current box of medication. They may make a charge for this.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Please allow 48 hours before collection (although we do endeavour to have your prescription or medicines ready for collection within 24 hours) and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
